I need braces and my teeth has alot cavaties what can i get done about this on the NHS

Q. Firstly when i was younger, approx 9 i ahd my four canines taken out, due to over crowding. This hurt immensly, and i did not go to the dentist for about 8 years. When my canines came back through (adult teeth) they came through at the top, through the gums at the front like vampire teeth. When i went back to a dentist, they refered me to an orthodontist, who told me even as a student i had to pay for a brace, approx £4000-£5000. I did not agree to a brace, when i was younger, neither did my mother. they just used it as a remedy, now i am so self-concious, always cover my mouth etc. Also due to not going to the dentist for 8 years, i had alot of cavaties, and had to have my bottom far back tooth out, and my far back left, making it hard to eat. What can i get done about this on the NHS, as i am a student and cannot afford thousands of pounds. Also if nothing what can i get done privately and how much would it cost? thank you in advance

A. I think you need to try to register with an NHS dentist although this might be tricky if you need lots of treatment. if you are over 18 you will probably not be able to qualify for a brace on the NHS, as a guide this will cost from £1500 per arch

I have a daughter who is aged 13 and been advised that by the dentist over 9 mths ago that will need brace. But I will have to proberley have to pay but the final decsion will be with the orthodontics. I this agree with this as all the people have have spoken have advised that they have not paid anything. I feel that this is unjust and due to her age should be free as the dentist is referring me. I have been with this dentist for more 12 years and have had both my children with them ever since. Please can you help as I feel that I and my daughter are been unfairly treated.

Hi, I would be interested in a consultation for teeth straightening. It would be good to talk over some of the options to find which is the most suitable. Thanks,
