I’m looking to have some cosmetic dentistry work done abroad, can you advise me on this?

Q. I 27 and looking to have implants and Lumineers/Veneers dental work abroad. I want to be an informed consumer but im thralling through blogs, forums and websites in order to research a reputable dental practice and the only reviews I can find are of countries and not individual practices. I have posted questions myself but the editor will always take out the name of the company I am asking about. Can you give me some advice please, I really want a pretty white smile and my full bite back. Thank you.,
A. Sites are unlikely to make specific clinic recommendations as it carries a degree of responsibility for any treatment that is carried out. Also negative comments might be construed as libel so a well intentioned warning might be costly for the site editor. In general my experience of such clinics is poor, the problems associated with undoing poor implant treatments should not be underestimated. Lumineers are made from one lab in the USA so if they don’t come with a lumineer certificate of authenticity or get fitted within a week they probably are not the real thing. In general beware of slick sales that offer “its just the same as ……. but its half the price. A free replacement without charge is a good thing if you can get to your dentist easily, but the cases we saw did not want to fly back for more of the same. In summary consider having your treatment in affordable stages , use interest free credit facilities, find an accessible dentist, be specific on the materials used and look to get the best advantage from each situation. We offer a free initial UK consultation where most of the above can be applied to your situation to come up with a budget , a guide price and a plan. Rob 0121 643 0610

I got my dental implants done in Hungary – the care was good and I’ve had no problems since, although I’ve heard so many horror stories about people receiving treatment abroad, this is probably the reason you’re struggling to get information on the subject. The best thing you can do is research all the companies that come recommended and make a well-informed decision of your own.

Hello, I am under 16 and have recently been turned down for 2 free orthodontist treatment regarding to my crooked teeth and I am thinking of doing this treatment overboard (in another country) and return to UK after that holiday. What are the complications of this?? Do I need to refer to an orthodontist in the UK for this or can I? I hope that you reply to this so that I can have a better insight!

I do not have any experience relating to having treatment abroad, so cannot help on this matter. Generally they do not have an NHS system so you would more than likely have to pay no matter what age you are, so be careful and check before doing anything! Good luck

Good afternoon, I am looking to have two dental implants, but cannot decide whether to go abroad to have them done due to cost, in the UK I have received quotes from 2000-4000 but abroad only 1500? I am obtaining a quote from a company called Index Medica in Poland, do you know if this is a good cosmetic dentist to go? cuold you possibly recommend any dentists abroad? or one in the uk who isn’t charging 3x the price of having them done abroad?
