I lost a tooth in the front of my mouth long time will the gap be closed with the implant now

Q. Hi Dr. Moore, I lost a tooth in the front of my mouth many years ago and I have always wanted to close the gap. Will this be possible with implants after a long time of no tooth there?

A. Yes but you need to CT scan of the jaw to measure the exact amount of bone available prior to implants. Generally the bone will shrink as time goes by. the bone could be rebuilt prior to the implant in  cases where the loss of bone is significant
