I just got a porcelain crown and i notice a slight hole under my gumline is it normal?

Q. Hi I just got my two front Porcelin crowns on my teeth. I notice a slight hole under my gumline. Is this normal?Should I tell my dentist/can it be filled? I got crowns to correct my gap. Thanks

A. Hi
if the whole is at the gumline between the two crowns this is usually because the gums need time to mould into the space.
in smokers or patients who have never had teeth filling the space it ma never fill, however it may take upto 6 months to determine this.
if the gap is where the crown meets the tooth return to your dentist

Hi, i had a root canal treatment last week and returned for a porcelain crown today, on my back molar, however when i got home and looked at it i noticed a small dark hole on the top of the crown, is this normal? I mean i have no roots or anything so cant feel that tooth at all but didnt know if this was a defect with the crown or if its fairly normal, if it is going to cause problems inthe future id rather go back and get it sorted as it did cost a lot of money, however if its just an appearance i wont bother going back. Any advice would be very helpful, thanks
