I Have Two White Marks On My Teeth, Will Whitening Just Make It Worse?

Q.
My adult teeth have two white marks on the two front teeth that have been there ever since they grew. I don’t think they are stains, rather they are in built into my teeth. I hate them so much, they have ruined my confidence and I will not smile in photos because of them.
Will teeth whitening work? Or will I have to go down a more costly route? I have read online that apparently teeth whitening will just make the marks more prominent but if the tooth around the mark is white too then surely the white mark will not be as bad it is now?
I would prefer to go down the less costly route however any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Whitening may work but sometimes it can actually intensify the problem. Sometimes if they are not too deep they can be removed by micro-abrasion techniques or at least reduced in size so that they are not so obvious. Some aesthetic composite bonding may be the answer – this is basically where the section of tooth is removed/cut out and replaced with tooth-coloured filling to exactly match the surrounding tooth.

The best thing is to go and see a very experienced cosmetic dentist who can advise you.  Kind regards,  Mark.
