I have lost all my bottom teeth and want cosmetic dentures

Q. Over the last 12 months, I have lost all but 3 of my bottom teeth. I have dentures which are awful looking and ill fitting. I asked my dentist about cosmetic dentures, but am not sure he understood exactly the type I want, as he told me they would cost between £300 – £500, yet looking at internet sites they seem a lot more expensive. The type I am thinking of are the sort seen on tv shows such as 10 yrs younger. What sort of cost would I be looking at please.

A. There are two types of cosmetic denture. One with porcelain teeth and one with acrylic teeth. The dentures with acrylic teeth cost between £1200 to £1500 each. This means that for an upper and lower set of teeth would be up tp £3000. The dentures with porcelain teeth cost between £6000 to £10000 for upper and lower dentures. Porcelain teeth are harder wearing and can look more realistic but are heavier and can feel slightly heavier than acrylic teeth. If you are going to have these types of dentures made it is best to find a cosmetic dentist that does dentures regularly for patients.
The other option to dentures is implants and these can retain a full arch bridge which is fixed so you won’t need to remove it at night.
The cost of the treatment would vary depending on how many implants are needed. If you want to investigate this option further the best thing to do is have a consultation with an implant dentist so that you have all the options
I hope this helps
Kind Regards
