I have bad teeth feel that a nice smile would greatly improve my quality of life

Q. Hello, I am 21 years old, I am a student studying psychology than going on to med school, so clearly i am not going to be able afford private cosmetic work done for a very long time. I have such bad teeth, i avoid smiling. I can’t stand looking at my teeth, every time i brush my teeth i have to turn my back to the mirror. My teeth make me so depressed. When i was younger i used to smoke, i also use to have somewhat of an eating disorder, where i use to make my self sick, so my teeth bare the scars of this. Do you know if NHS dentists offer a payment plan? I’d ask my dentist all this, but as you can imagien NHS dentists are very rushed in thier appointments, so i cannot stress enough how depressed my teeth make me. I feel that a nice smile would greatly improve my quality of life, Thank you for your time. PS, if i sent you a pic, would you be able to suggest the best course of action. Thank you

A. You are more than welcome to send me a picture and i can give you more advice.  If you do not feel you can afford private cosmetic care you may be able to visit one of the dental teaching hospitals and they may be able to help you.
