I have a gaping hole between my two front teeth from severe gum disease; can i have a row of dentures made on top?

Q.
Hi Dr,
I’m wondering if you can help me, I have suffered from gum disease in the past and have had it treated but its left me with a terrible problem, I have a big gaping hole in my gum where the gum has wore away completely, at the front of my mouth between my right front and 2nd right teeth. Its really noticeable and some rather uncouth people have commented on it in the past which makes me more paranoid about it. I’m wondering that because the gum has wore away would it be possible to like have my whole front row of teeth removed and have a row of dentures made? or would there be any other way around this problem, the rest of my teeth are fine and don’t need work its just the two that I mentioned.

Look forward to hearing from you soon

I would advise a consultation with a specialist Periodontist before considering removing the teeth. You may be suitable for gum grafting. if this is not possible then yes there are options where we can put a false gum material in place. Thank you for your enquiry.
