I am depressed about my teeth condition
Q. Hi After years of neglect ,all my top teeth have badly decayed ,and broken off . Im so embarrassed about this ,and hence cant face a dentist because of the shame that I let my teeth get into this state. Unfortunately I cant afford private ,so will have to go nhs , I would like to know what is available ,as I know I am probably going to have to have them all taken out and have dentures,but I have been told nhs wont cover this? Also ,what would you advise me to tell the dentist before my appointment ,as I want to let him know the state my mouth is in before he actually sees them ,im so depressed about this and really need some help .
A. You will be able to get denture treatment on the NHS. I would be worried about what the dentist might say, thats our job to fix peoples teeth and we are very used to seeing less than perfect mouths!
my teeth are almost non existent i have 10 teeth on the top 1 is capped and i have 9 on the bottom,i have no molars left so i cannot chew anything hard or tough,meat is a no no,i have to chew everything with my front teeth which wears them down further,but my dentist refuses to even consider me for dentures,i am 34 and have forgotten how to smile,is this how the NHS are now treating patients???
Im really depressed about my teeth im 25 years old and feel unattractive, I cry about it and sometimes dont eat cos im scared if any fall out or break, I cant afford private and do see a dentist on nhs but nothing seems to be happening ? Can i get free treatment
fao: sonia, Can you change dentists? the whole idea of a dentist leaving you to chew using front teeth only is obsurd. I’d go to another NHS one straight away.
Iv’e had awful dentists and moved.
