I am a victim of domestic violence, in which my front teeth were knocked out. Am I eligable for free dental implants?

Q.
hello doctor shaffie. i am a 41 year old women and i was a victim of domestic violence. my three front teeth were knocked out, and i have to wear dentures at the moment and it is not doing much for my self esteem. my question is would i be able to get free implants anywhere or would i have to pay? given my circumstances i cannot afford treatment and as it was not my fault the teeth were knocked out…would dentists take this into consideration?  i am also a full time mum and i am on benefits so i no there is no way i could afford private treatment thank you for taking the time to read my question. i hope you can help me.

Hello, thank you for your question, I am sorry you have this problem. However, It is very difficult to get implants on the NHS and it may be that your dentist can try to refer you to an NHS hospital to see if they will take you on as a patient. They tend to only provide implants for patients in very extreme circumstances.

I hope this answers your question.
