How quickly might you be able to do an implant to minimise the denture wearing?

Q. Dear Dr Moore, You have been reccomended to me by my colleague whos husband John Longdon has recently had treatment from you. I have a post crown with a root fracture. because of previous apisectomy ( i think thats how you spell it) I also have bone loss and the tooth is very very loose. I cannot have a bridge because the bone structure is too weak and I dont want to be with a permenant denture and wondered how quickly you might be able to do an implant to minimise the denture wearing? My dentist (now previous) wouldn’t help me with this just kept filling the back of the tooth until eventually it has become so loose that it is almost falling out! I have an appointment at Eastman’s tomorrow as they think that I may need the tooth surgically removed which I am obviously also not very pleased about. The whole thing is a nightmare and I am worried. I was wondering what your advice would be? Regards.,
A. hello Maggie I would be very happy to help and would try to do the treatment as quickly as possible. If you could call my clinic on 01245 268 494 they will be able to arrange an appointment for a full assessment before we discuss all your possible options, costs and timescales best wishes Andrew

I have just had a post crown re-cemented (by a dentist at another practice providing emergency cover for my dentist who is currently away). This dentist took two x-rays before re-fitting my crown and said that one of the roots is fractured. My question is can I have some treatment to the root in order to have the crown fitted (he re-fitted it temporarily until I can see my own dentist). Or if the root is fractured is this the end of the line. Thanks

I have two eye teeth on top and the rest are on a denture plate. One of the eye teeth had a filling and has now broke off. I have been givin twoo choices either add another tooth to my plate or have a crown fitted. Dentist said crown might not work? I have a temp white cover on a wobbly post (while waiting for my appointments). What is better option, extract and add another tooth to a denture or try to get a crown fitted? My first app of 3 is in 3 weeks time.

It may be better to have the remaining teeth removed and a full upper denture places as this will definitely feel tighter in your mouth than a partial denture. Also, if you have a crown placed, you will need to have a new denture made as your old one will not fit around the new crown. Regards,
