How much would lumineers cost on my discoloured front teeth
Q. Hey, when I was at school i fell on my front two teeth. They went very discoloured and had to have root canal treatment. After i had my braces off i had them bleached. They look ok but they are still discoloured epsecially near the top and i really do not like it. As being at university i havent exactly got lots of money. however my 21st birthday is coming up and depending on price i was wondering how much lumineers would be. Also i was wondering can you have just the two front teeth done, would they match or just look weird? Also the two front teeth are really fragile, my dentist expected them to snap after a few years but they seem to have been fine. Would that matter to what treatment i would need. Would it be best to get false ones? How would this work? Sorry its so long. Thankyou for your help.
A. The choices that you have are
1. Have internal bleaching again- this may work very well
2. Have veneers placed – lumineers are just a brand name for veneers. 2 teeth can be done but it can be very difficult to match the adjacent teeth. In my practice I use a system called Cerec that allows me to individually customize veneers to get a very close colour match. There is an example on my web site – www.avivacosmeticdentistry.com
4. Crowns – if the tooth is heavily filled.
3. Implants – not advised unless their is recurrent infection or severe damage to the tooth.
