How do we reduce the post operative sensitivity after a teeth whitening procedure is done

Q. 1) How do we reduce the post operative sensitivity after a teeth whitening procedure is done? 2) How do we prevent the burning sensation of the gums during the tooth whitening procedure(professional method), inspite of having placed the gum protector and topical anaesthesia?

A. Hi
post whitening sensitivity can be controlled by analgesics , high fluoride rinse or varnish or strontium particle containing compounds

the burning sensation occurs because you have not placed your dam correctly you shouldnt need topical analgesia your technique is definately incorrect

Hi,
Doc, i take the answer for the post whitening sensitivity will try one of the methods and see what suits best.
Though a dam is placed the interdental gingiva is still at risk to the burning sensation.
As per the technique goes, there is nothing incorrect about it.
If you do follow a so called “correct” technique please do let me know i would appreciate your efforts.
Thank you,
