How bad and painful is the process of getting veneers? Also I want to get my teeth whiten

Q. I’m chipped my two front upper teeth, when i was about 10. I had them capped, for the past 8yrs. My current dentist says there fillings. I don’t really know what they are. I hate my teeth and have had braces, and there is partly visible line of where my teeth were capped, and my dentist wants to shave them down and re-do them, i think with veneers. I really hate the dentist, absolutely petrified. I have had many different dentists through out the years and don’t like my current dentist. My questions are; How bad and painful is the process of getting veneers? Also I want to get my teeth whiten, I’m thinking of using a home whitening kit, but will it whiten my caps or not. I don’t want my teeth not to match, specially as there my front teeth. I’m also thinking of trying baking soda, I heard this works to whiten, but you should only use twice a month. Thank You

A. You should ask your dentist to whiten the teeth 1st with professional home whitening trays, then replace the fillings with veneers or new white fillings. The process of placing veneers is very straightforward, I’m sure you won’t find it a problem and the end result will be worth it
