I’m considering dental implants, are porcelain implants the best type?

Monday, May 10th, 2010
Q.
My front two lower teeth had root canal surgery about 25 years ago. They are discoloured. So I was going to have veneers over then. However, when my dentist checked the x-ray he noticed an infection around the two teeth. He said is would ne better for me to have the teeth extracted and have bridges a Maryland Bridge. When I researched this bridge I read that the two teeth supporting the bridge can become discoloured. I have also read that if the root is taken out and not filled then over time you can get atrophy. I would like to have dental implants but this can be expensive. Are porclean implants the best? Im not sure what to do? I did ask the dentist if I can have an x-ray every year to see how the infection is and to make sure it has not moved towards tooth number 3 as it is at the bottom of my two teeth I had root canal surgery on and I dont feel anything as the teeth have no feeling,. Can I just have an xray every year just to see how the infection is going, after all it has not caused me a problem for 25 years and just have veneers? If not and I should have my teeth removed what is the best permanent procedure? Thanks,

Will the root need to be removed regardless of the treatment I decide to have?

Monday, May 10th, 2010
Q.
I had an upper front tooth crown on a post which became loose so my dentist lengthened it. It became loose and on removing it the root fractured. He is now going to remove the root and put a denture in its place . This seemed a good option so my gum can heal to enable implant at later date, if I dont like the denture. [decided against the bridge as too evasive. My question is why does the root need removing. We dont remove them when we have a tooth extracted, and does the root need removing whichever treatment I decide.,

My baby tooth is going to fall out with no adult tooth to replace it, what do you suggest?

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010
Q.
i have a baby tooth which at the age of 38 is now becoming loose, but x-rays show there is no 2nd tooth in the gum to come down to replace the baby one. Is it possible to have a bridge or would i need to have a false tooth screwed into my gum. I do not want a false tooth on a plate :-(. And i would like to know the prices please. Thank you.,
