How can underbite and overbite be treated and how feasible is invisalign?

Q.
I didn’t want braces when I was younger, but now have teeth that are too big and crowded for my mouth. I am now 24 and have both and overbite and underbite. My middle two top teeth (bunny teeth) have pushed forwards even further and one is now crossing over the other due to lack of space. I find it very difficult to close my mouth, which makes eating, talking and sleeping difficult (I sleep on my face to keep my mouth shut so I can breathe properly). Where I am stretching my jaw to close my mouth, I am getting pains in my neck and ears and I would like to get my teeth fixed before things get any worse. My teeth are fairly straight and otherwise healthy, but too far forwards in varying degrees. I have had all four wisdom teeth removed this year. I work full time in an office and having a metal brace would make my job very difficult (I have to talk to clients) as I alerady find it difficult to talk. I am therefore considering getting invisalign to pull my teeth back. Could you give me more information on this. What is involved, roughly how much is it likely to cost and how long will it take to work? Will it make talking more difficult as a metal brace would?

Are veneers or braces better for crooked teeth?

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009
Q.
Hi there The 2 teeth next to my front teeth are crooked (they protrude forwards) Would i be better to go for a brace or have a veneer? I’ve heard that braces work but the results are not permanent..so this puts me off. Are veneers more permanent?

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009
Q.
Hi, im 23 and looking into getting my teeth straightened. on my top row its the 4 middle ones that are the problem. the middle 2 are quite big and the 2 either side of them have twisted at an angle outwards so my smile just looks awful! is there a way other than wearing braces that this can be fixed so that my middle 2 teeth arnt as big and the other 2 are twited back round to the right position?

can i fix misaligned teeth with 6 month smile plan?

Monday, August 31st, 2009
Q.
Dear Dr Bohara I am 20 years old, nearly 21. My problem is my upper front two teeth overlap each other and has caused one to stick out as it is covering half of the other tooth. As you know at this age not having braces would be prefered. Could i take on the 6 month smile plan? Thank you

Can u advice the best treatments available for straightening crooked tooth?

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009
Q.
Hi,over the last 8-10 years my 2 upper front teeth have clearly protruded forward and it seems my teeth have become more crooked in general,i would like them staightened but there seems to be a vast array of braces to choose from. i am 39 years old and concerned whether braces work on an adult with much success, also 2 of my upper front teeth are noticeably smaller than the others, can you advise the best treatment to make these teeth the same as the others, thanks

I need to get brace what could I expect to pay privately

Saturday, August 22nd, 2009
Q.
Hello Dr Tennent, I had a brace as a child which was not a fixed one, but has an extra piece i had to wear at night, that went round my head. This was because my incisors were to straight and made my canines look like fangs. The brace did not work effectively and for some reason it was left at that. I am not 40 and do not want a brace. Can anything be done ? What’s the minimum could i expect to pay privatly if it could. Kind Regards
