What kind of treatments are available for teeth correction or alignment?

Q. Dr Caplan, i am looking for some advice on my teeth which i am very unhappy with, my front two teeth seem to sit further back than the rest, which gives the effect the teeth on either side of them look like fangs, this prob seems to have got worse im quite sure my teeth are moving! what type of treatment would i need to correct this problem?

A. There are 3 treatments available to you – orthodontics to move the teeth into the correct position; veneers to disguise the position of your teeth; a combination of orthodontics and veneers.  With teeth in a poor position I would always recommend moving the teeth first and then reassess the look.  If time is a big issue veneers can be placed as in option 3 but your teeth may need nerve treatment if they are in a poor position
