what is the cost and side effects of osseous surgery

Monday, March 9th, 2009
Q.
Hello, I live in German town Maryland and I have question about osseous surgery, it’s cost and any side effect. My wife’s dentist has suggest her a gum disease and advised surgery for removal of ERU 1,16,17 & 32 teeth as well as osseous surgery per qu for UR,UL,LL & LR. My question is how serious is situation and could any delay cause problem later on?. The dentist has given an estimate of around 5587.00. Is this cost reasonable or too high?. I am not in a situation to afford this high cost surgery and what is your suggestion to deal with it. Please also advise if it has any side effect after surgery and how it could be avoided. Thanks

peridontal surgery is an interest to me

Monday, March 9th, 2009
Q.
Dear Dr Solanki, I visited my local dental practice today to get my teeth cleaned by a hygienist. She mentioned I had gum recession at the bottom of my front teeth. In previous conversations I have mentioned this to my dentist he has stated it will get better. I feel really paranoid as you can see the bone of my teeth and my big worry is that I dont wanna loose my tooth. I have done some research I have found out about peridontal surgery which is an interest to me because I would rather have surgery to cover up my missing gum tissue. I dont mind paying the cost of the surgery. I just need some advice of what I can do. I dont know places in Rochdale or Manchester where these treatments are provided. Please can you help me. Thanks

I have gum disease and have been to lots of sessions with the hygienist

Q.
Hi, I have always been frightened of the dentist through a bad experience as a child. 2 years ago I plucked up the courage and went to see a p rivate dentist who done a temp bridge but I had to have loads of sessions with the hygenist due to a problem with my gums. I had gum disease which my mother also had so I think it is something hereditory. After months and months of treatemnt with the hygenist I couldn’t afford to keep going and my gums were getting better but if I stopped going to the hygenist it would come back no matter how much I followed her instructions but then I had to go and work away, I am due home and will probably start treatment again but I am wondering how long should it possibly take as there is nothing that she hasn’t done and until she gives the go ahead then they wont replace the temp crown which is now getting quite discoloured. What do you think I should do as this effects my whole appearance and I am so desperate to have my front teeth sorted out.

All my teeth are discoloured due to lots of medication as a child and my lower gums are also receeding. I have gum recession

Friday, February 6th, 2009
Q.
I am a 35 year old women with a 3 year old child. I have gum recession and I was wondering what i could do to stop this from carrying on. I have been told by my dentist that on the whole my gums are healthy, they dont bleed when brushing, but after years of brushing my teeth too hard and i bite down hard when im stressed (both in sleep and awake) this has caused my gum recession. Clearly i am concious of this as your smile is important to a women and i was wondering what i could do about this. I brush and mouthwash everyday without fail.

Iam getting quite worried about my receeding gums

Thursday, February 5th, 2009
Q.
Hi there, I am getting quite worried about my receeding gums and what can be done about them. I have really bad receeding gums on both my top front teeth and all my lower front teeth. My teeth have started to be really painful, aching most of the time and are now incredibly sensitive to hot, cold and sweet foods. I am only 25, dont have any dental problems that I know of and my gums dont bleed, this seems to have started suddenly a year ago and I notice the gums shrinking noticeably more every few weeks. My dentist has told me it is due to harsh brushing and there is nothing I can do about it, but I use a soft toothbrush and am careful when brushing them. I’m just worried about damage to the teeth in the future, and who is the best person to see about this. Thanks
