i have had upper and lower valplast dentures fitted

Sunday, September 14th, 2008
Q.
I thought I would let you know that I have had both upper and lower Valplast partial dentures fitted. They fit perfectly and feel very comfortable in my mouth. I have been able to retain my normal diet and my whole face feels rejuvinated and most importanly I have my smile back. I have read these forums for sometime now and would like to stress that implants are not essential. I have found it very annoying reading that members of the panel continually try to ‘hard sell’ impants and dismiss going for conventional dentures at every opportunity they get. Not everyone is a candidate for implants and not everyone can afford them. Furthermore, there are far worse complications with implant failure than denture failure. If there is a good understanding between patient, dentist and the lab then dentures can be successful. I wish the board would embrace this more with the users of this forum and stop condemming dentures and realise that with good care and planning, dentures can work for people.

what the alternative to dentures

Sunday, September 14th, 2008
Q.
I am very scared of the fact of eventually having to have dentures. What is my alternative. I have a few crowns but they are not perfect.I have not been to my dentist for over a year as I have lost my confidence in him, but I know I will need to have treatment soon.

can my dentures fit better

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008
Q.
I have very little gums for my dentures to hold on to, dental pastes do not work. Therefore eating is a problem. I had them relined and it helped for a short time. Is there someway to make dentures that would fit or is there any way to attach the dentures? and if there is how much would it cost. Any information would be appreciated, as it is nice to be able to eat once in a while.
