How much I would be looking at paying for a new bridge?

Friday, August 21st, 2009
Q.
Hello, can you tell me how much I would be looking at paying for a new bridge. I have one at the moment that has slipped and needs replacing. It is the 4 teeth at the front. My dentist told me about 6 months ago, if I wanted it replaced it would cost £700, but if it moved or started to slip it would cost £300. It has now started to slip and there is a large cap around my gum area. after seeing my dentis saturday, he told me it would now cost £800. I said to him that he said before that if it slipped it would cost £300, and he said the NHS has changed and it is classed as cosmetic unless I am in pain. But he did tell me that if it slipped and needed to be replaced it would only be £300, so I dont know what to believe, is he trying to get more money out of me. Any info would be great. thanks.

is it possible to have new post or crown fitted with bridge attached?

Friday, August 21st, 2009
Q.
I had my 2 front teeth crowned 22 years ago.In January this year the UR1 got an infection and in June I had crown post etc removed and a temp bridge put on.My dentist is very keen to do implant but I cannot afford it at this time. My UR2 has now started feeling uncomfortable and hurting and dont want to spend alot of money on permanent bridge if it has to come out after few weeks. My dentist says the post is very large and I havent got much of a root filling, is it possible to have new post/crown fitted with bridge attached? Or should I consider dentures for front 2 teeth?

If Ive my front tooth removed how soon could I get a bridge

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009
Q.
I have had several teeth surgically removed in the past two years and now I am down to three bad teeth in the front of my mouth on the top. One front tooth is decaying and is broke in half, one I know I need removed and one that I need to get filled. My question is, if I have my front tooth removed and the badly decaying one, how soon after could I get a bridge, so I could smile again?

Can root canal be done with out ruining the post for the bridge

Monday, August 17th, 2009
Q.
The capped tooth which serves as the post for the bridge needs a root canal. Can this be safely done without ruining/cracking the (procelain) bridge itself? What’s the percentage of the bridge being ruined?

How can I fill in the 2/3 spaces without doing an implant

Sunday, August 16th, 2009
Q.
I have lower left a crowned tooth at the very back, then 2 spaces then a tooth with a crack all the way down and then a good tooth in the front. How can I fill in the 2/3 spaces without doing an implant. Back tooth and front tooth may not be strong enough for a bridge.

My bridges are fairly secure but small amount of food could get in How can I fix it?

Friday, August 14th, 2009
Q.
I have had a crack in the first tooth of my bridge in the front lower jaw for 4 months. I am concerned that although it is still fairly secure there may be small amounts of food & sugary drinks that could get in and over time could start to decay the post. I had this bridge fitted 35 years ago & also have a crown next to it. I have been told by my dentist that the work does not warrant nhs treatment as it would be classed as cosmetic and I’m not sure what to do.
