Need more information on jaw surgery

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009
Q.
Okay well im 15 and i had braces for about 4 years. before i had them i had a bad gap and my teeth were completly crooked. After i got my braces off my teethe became straight and i did not have a gap anymore but the problem is i have a bad underbite and i have a jaw that jets out (long face shaped). My orthodontist told me that only way to fix it is to get jaw surgrey. I was wondering basically all about it, what it does? if i really should get it? how much it cost? -if you need more information or any questions for me please ask.

Need advise on a gum receding issue and its treatment

Monday, October 26th, 2009
Q.
2 questions. I am in my 50s a) my gum at the front is receding and makes one of my incisors look a lot longer – is there such a thing as a gum transplant? b) My dentist doesn’t want to replace my metal fillings with white – is this because it might crack my teeth?

Is an implant required after original tooth is removed?

Monday, October 26th, 2009
Q.
My upper back tooth had to be removed because it was cracked. My dentist and oral surgeon are recommending an implant. The reason is not for cosmetic purposes because it can’t be seen. The oral surgeon said an implant was necessary because the tooth below it would grow taller. But I still don’t understand the problem with that?? And I do have a tooth next to it with a large surface for chewing. I just had it pulled on October 16 so I don’t know what the comfort level will eventually be without an implant. My question is how important is it to have an implant on a tooth so far back and out of sight?

Crowns fitted to my teeth are causing problem

Monday, October 26th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I have recently had 4 crowns fitted to my front teeth. They were fixed with temporary cement at first and all of them fell off within a couple of weeks. Since being fitted with permanent cement they have been in place for a couple of months but they feel like they are moving. I have previously had veneers and they sometimes used to give a clicking sensation which i was used to yet with the crowns it is much more often. I am worried that the crowns are not fitted properly (especially as they fell off) and my own tooth may become damaged. My dentist says there is nothing wrong and not to worry. Can you please provide some advice?

I need advise on my teeth problem and treatment costs?

Monday, October 26th, 2009
Q.
I am fed up with my teeth they are badly in need of alot of work.I am 33 years old and my teeth look like they belong to a 65 year old. I am missing my upper right central, my upper right lateral is very very loose now also the same applies to the upper left lateral, they can easily move with a little push.I think i need to remove these as well with upper left central and either get implants or a bridge. what would you suggest i do? Really need some good advice and also what kind of money would you be talking for each of the above mentioned procedures.

I’m 22, and i brush my teeth at least twice a day and floss at least once every day… i haven’t been to a dentist check up in like 5 years… some of my teeth seem to be kind of loose, is not my finger or anything, i’ve tried with tweezers and they actually move a little bit…. i’m very concerned… I drink tons of milk and eat very healthy!
