Thursday, January 7th, 2010
Q.
I have been told by my dentist that i do not have enough bone to hold my teeth in unless I see a specialist, my problem is that this treatment will cost over £900 which we are unable to afford, is there anything else I can do to help my situation,

Still have milk teeth

Thursday, January 7th, 2010
Q.
Hi, I have a strange set of teeth! I am 21 and have still not lost a majority of my milk teeth, leaving me with a crowded jar. My dentist has removed two teeth to free up space, but this incidentally has been filled by others. It is only the bottom set i have trouble with. with overlapping and teeth at incorrect angles my mouth is difficult to maintain. I believe i may need another tooth removing on the bottom, but would then require some form of bracing to correct the smile. Is there a non invasive/visible form of bracing, and in what cases would you advice cosmetic dentistry, which is usually an expensive option. I am also yet to receive my wisdom teeth. is it an issue that i still have milk teeth, how will this affect me? My jar is also often painful, bearably but it is annoying and it often clicks on the left side at my joint a lot when i open wide,

Teeth are loose and discoloured

Thursday, January 7th, 2010
Q.
I am 66 years old and have poor teeth. My lower front teeth are loose and discoloured. I also have gum disease and I think before long the lower front teeth will need to be removed. I want to look at new teeth but do not know much about it. Dentures scare me somewhat and I wonder if some implants and whitening of the few good teeth I have would be the answer. I would appreciate your advice. I live in Portugal but come to the UK fairly often. How long would any recommended treatment take. Many thanks.,

Teeth with spaces

Thursday, January 7th, 2010
Q.
Hi, I have most of my upper teeth spaced. They have always been like that and it is not due to missing teeth. I would like to know the best method to close the gaps. It is not just my two front teeth but the front six. I have heard about bands that you wear at night and of course invisalign. please help me. thank you,

Could abscess be caused by dental crown?

Thursday, January 7th, 2010
Q.
When receiving a crown, should the crown touch the gum line? or is it ok for there to be a gap from the crown to the gum line? I ask this because I went into the dentist and received two crowns on both my baby teeth, in which I do not have an adult took under it. The one tooth where the crown touched the gum line resulted in being just fine, However; the other crown on my other tooth did not touch the gum line and I received an abscess tooth. Could it be the reason I received this abscess tooth be caused from improper fitting of the crown? It s it possible for food to get into my gums that way?,
