Monday, August 2nd, 2010
Q.
Dear Dr, i writing to you in hope and desperation ! I have quite an unusual dental problem ( i think so anyway) i have what can only be described as an extra tooth my front two teeth are in place but the tooth to the right has grown behind them and is now about an inch behind them i can now feel/notice the one on the left doing so i hate it so much i rarely smile and find myself mumbling instead of speaking clearly as i am scared of someone noticing the tooth it is not seen unless i open my mouth wide but i live in constant fear of people noticing i am so embarresed i have not ever discussed this with my husband although i am sure he is aware of it!!!,

Q.
Hi there, I was just wondering what your opinion on Crest Whitening Strips are. I know they’re not available in the UK so I assume they dont meet all regulations but are they harmful to use?,

Did procedure lead to these new problems?

Monday, August 2nd, 2010
Q.
Hi, Just before Xmas i had a tooth prepared for a Crown. My Dentist didnt place a temporary on as “your gum is a bit sore wont put temporary on to give it time too heal”. What with the Xmas period and not having the money to pay the remaining balance I went back 5 weeks later to have the Crown fitted. When I went back the Dentist said “just going to remove the temporary”. I told her she never put one on and she did seem slightly surprised. She’d obviously forgot she’d not put one on… Sorry this is long winded..Now i have sensitivity to hot and cold and have an awful taste and smell coming from that area. Is this because the crown doesnt fit properly as my teeth shifted from not having a temporary on? That is a guess but obviously I would value yr professional opinion. Please help as iv’e paid £400 for this treatment and now have sensitivity and smelly breath that i didnt have before!!,

What are my options with a limited budget?

Monday, August 2nd, 2010
Q.
hello doctor, I hope you’re doing fine.. I’m 29 years old now, & I lost my upper right first bicuspid today. my dentist advised me to take dental implant in next 2 weeks. But my mother wants me to just use braces (I talked to her when I got home), since I have closed bite in my front upper teeth (is it the correct term? Whenever I try to open plastic wrap food with my teeth, it seems to take forever!). In her opinion it’ll be more easier & cheaper since there’s an “empty room” so the teeth will rearranged it self and the gap won’t be noticed. My teeth is naturally straight, thank God, but just goes outward, yeah 4 mm distance from lower teeth. Which advice I should follow, doc? My budget is limited, so I don’t want to waste it in wrong choice. What do you think about my condition?,

Friday, July 30th, 2010
Q.
Hello, I have a teeth growing at an angle (sideways) bottom right , it is adjacent to the molar. I also have two incisors that didn’t have space to grow in the gaps so are growing through the roof of my mouth, I can feel it coming out. What can be done to fix them, can it wear my roots away.,

I’m experiencing a lot of pain since the extraction of my wisdom tooth, is this normal?

Thursday, July 29th, 2010
Q.
Hi, I had my lower right wisdom tooth extracted in hospital 4 days ago under local. It was very traumatic, and now I am getting a constant throbbing pain all along my jaw line, right up to the socket of my jaw near my ear. I am taking normal paracetemol as well as Ibuprofen but the constant throbbing and aching is starting to take its toll. I’ve done exactly as asked, Corsodyl mouth washes, salt water washes, brushing teeeth after every meal (soup and yoghurt and mashed potato). Is it normal for there to be so much aching and throbbing? My other teeth next to the one which was removed are also feeling “on edge” and sensitive. There is also a foul taste in my mouth despite my regular teeth brushing and mouth washing so am worried I may have dry socket.,
