What is a suitable alternative to a chrome brace?

Tuesday, March 1st, 2011
Q.

I have missing teeth on my left side. I am wearing a chrome brace at the moment. What else could you recommend I could have done in place of what I am using at present. How much could it cost me for one crowned vaneer seeing as I have three teeth missing in a row due to an accident I had many years ago.

The base of my dentures is too thick, what can I do?

Thursday, February 24th, 2011
Q.

3 weeks ago I had all my remaining teeth removed and given immediate dentures. After taking into account and understanding what the dentist has told me about them, I am trouble with the dentures. Firstly the thickness of the base of the denturers are too thick, and when I have both sets in I feel like I have golf balls in my mouth, I cannot speak properly and certainly cannot eat with them, they also look too false. I understand that it takes time to get used to wearing dentures, and I put them in every morning, and try to keep them in as long as i can, in the case of getting used to wearing them, but despite them been adjusted a couple of times the problem still exists. I have spoke to the dentist that did the treatment and he told me there is no way they can be made thinner. I am currently unemployed and on the NHS, please please can you help me

I lost my front two teeth, I think I need cosmetic work, what can i do?

Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011
Q.

Firstly.. I am terrified of dentists, for a number of reasons.
Most recently I fell out of a 15ft window, landed on my face and now both front teeth are missing.
I stopped eating sweets altogether and anything else I felt could do more harm to my teeth.
Also I had a piercing in my lower lip which has made my gums recede very badly.
As you can imagine all this has put a lot of fear into me… I also suffer quite badly from dreams where all my teeth fall out.
I’m 30 years old and really do not want to put it off any longer.
The problem I have is that the plate with my now 2 front teeth on it seems to do more damage than good.
I desperately want to be able to smile but have got so used to keeping my mouth closed I never do any more.
I have extra money each month as I work 2 jobs, one of them I am in the public eye as a Dj and want to able to look my best.
I am torn as what to do.
In my opinion I need the works, gum work and veneers.
What is the best way to get this sorted. I have extra money but I’m not rich by any means.
Can you help?

What are the different types of replacement teeth?

Friday, February 18th, 2011
Q.

I have been informed that rather than having an implant there are cosmetic teeth available that can be “clipped” into place? is this true? Also do orthodontists do the old fashion tooth on a plate?
