I Have A Protruding Fang Which Bugs Me, Should I Have It Removed?

Hi Dr Moore, as I’ve grown up, I was meant to have braces when I was younger but I didn’t because my mum neglected it, so I ended up with one protruding tooth on my top row, it looks like a fang which bugs me. After many years of feeling self-conscious about this, I would really like to see if there is a way I can get a relatively normal smile. It doesn’t have to be perfect, I just want the fang removed or something along those lines, please offer your advice and help me with this matter on what would possibly be the best course of action. In My Opinion, My Braces Were Taken Off Before They Were Ready, What Should I Now Do To Achieve My Perfect Smile?

I’ve had braces before and in my opinion were taken off before the teeth were fully ‘perfect’ I have quite yellow teeth and two central veneers which are starting to become uncomfortable as I think I have an over bite a lot of the teeth are fillings but feel gappy, and my gums are tender. Ideally I’m looking for the perfect smile but I would also like to improve the overall heath and sensitivity of my gums and smile. The question I would like to ask is: What work would need to be done and how much would it cost?

Help me! I am so terrified of the dentist and pain that I feel sick just talking about it but I really need to go. I started having root canal four years ago bit never went back to get it filled and now my tooth
has completely broken off and I think I have an abscess there now. I must need about 20 fillings more root canal teeth out, I want to get my teeth right and I want a brace and my teeth are all stained too. I am so embarrassed to go because they have got so bad I don’t want to end up with no teeth. What treatments can you offer me? I’m terrified of needles too I’ve tried “laughing gas” but it didn’t work, I also tried hypnotherapy but that didn’t work! Please help I think my teeth are letting me down in my line of work.

Hello Mark, I have a slight under-bite and was looking in to getting it rectified. I recently visited two orthdontists, both of whom thought that though the surgery was an option, a braces program of 18 months would correct it. Just to cover all angles, can veneers give the appearance of an under-bite correction? From internet browsing it seems some say yes , and others are saying no! I’ve got some pictures I can send to you – I know a closer examination would be needed but I’m just curious at this stage of what kind of treatment options are available to me! Hello, I’d like to make a query about 6 month smile. Would it be cheaper with NHS and could I send in recent jaw and teeth pictures taken by a orthodontist for your expertise as I am not able to attend? I’ve done the same thing with other clinics who excepted them.

I am currently wearing Damonite Braces (white base with a metal wire running over) and was told for my condition it would take at least 1 year – 1.5 years.

I was wondering would it be possible to keep the current base and modify it, somehow switching over to 6 month smile. I am hoping to cut the costs as I have already invested so far.

I would be present for treatment time, but just now I am not in England to attend a consultation.

I Need Braces To Open Up A Space For Dental Implants. Can Braces Be Placed Over A Maryland Bridge?

Hi there, I had braces as a child to open up space for my missing lateral incisors to be placed with dental implants when I was old enough, now I am 18 years old and have been told I will need braces once again as there is not enough space in the roots for dental implants, I am getting braces to open up roots space for dental implants for my missing laterals which are currently replaced with a Maryland bridge, can braces be placed over the bridge I have? Also what is the estimated time for the braces to open up a few mm of root space?

After Having Orthodontic Treatment, I Was Wondering How Long It Takes For Adult Teeth To Come Through?

Hi, Dr Shaffie, I’d like to mention that I had a first set of three teeth extracted on July 17th and another set of three extracted on August 13th. I had one baby tooth either side which were both taken out. Then on the 20th August I went to my orthodontic practice to have a fixed brace on my lower set of teeth and in about three months time I will be having a fixed brace on my upper set of teeth. The reason I never had a fixed brace on my upper set is that I have an adult tooth growing either side where the baby teeth were and I have to wait for them to come through enough to have a fixed brace on my upper set. So I was just wondering how long it would take for them two adult teeth to pierce through? Thanks, I hope you can help me out with this.

Hello Dr Hughes, I have my teeth in good condition except my upper right lateral. It’s much too far back from it’s line. I just feel bad about it and I always hate it because it ruins my smile. How Much Will It Cost To Get Braces After I Graduate?

Hi Dr Hussein Shaffie. What I would like to discuss with you is that I had a brace for around about 2 -2 and a half years in my teenage years. A few years have passed since and I’m now 21 years old, and have noticed that one of my front teeth has begun to overlap the adjacent tooth (this was the structure prior to my brace). I’m currently a student at the moment and as you can imagine cannot afford to get it fixed but would like to in the future. Can you estimate how much this would cost based on my description?

I Am Really Against Having To Wear Fixed Braces, Should I Get Implants Or Keep My Natural Teeth?

Hi, I had orthodontic work in my teens/early 20’s to straighten my teeth. I wore fixed braces for 6 years and had 6 teeth taken out as part of the procedure. I also had a bottom jaw operation to bring my jaw forward as it was believed this was causing my top front teeth to protrude. I wore retainers (top and bottom) for a year afterwards as prescribed. 12 years on and my teeth are relapsing. As an unconfident mid 30’s single female, I am really against having to wear fixed braces (I’ve been told this is the only proper way to fix my problem by several orthodontics) for another 12 -18 months and am now at a point of desperation where I want to have my top 6 front teeth removed and implants put in their place for a quicker and permanent solution as I’m terrified my teeth could relapse AGAIN after having had the work redone. Is this possible or are Cosmetic Dentists against removing healthy teeth?
