In My Opinion, My Braces Were Taken Off Before They Were Ready, What Should I Now Do To Achieve My Perfect Smile?

Q.
I’ve had braces before and in my opinion were taken off before the teeth were fully ‘perfect’ I have quite yellow teeth and two central veneers which are starting to become uncomfortable as I think I have an over bite a lot of the teeth are fillings but feel gappy, and my gums are tender. Ideally I’m looking for the perfect smile but I would also like to improve the overall heath and sensitivity of my gums and smile. The question I would like to ask is: What work would need to be done and how much would it cost?
A.
Thank you for getting in touch. It is essential that before embarking on any potential cosmetic treatments to improve your smile that all your teeth and gums are checked and are healthy. This involves a full assessment of all the teeth, including X-rays, followed by any remedial work that may be required. Once the teeth and gums are in good condition you can then consider all the option that may be available to improve your smile. Once you have achieved the ‘perfect smile’, this then needs to be maintained with regular dental inspections.

It is always very difficult to suggest what treatment you may need or indeed how much it would cost you without seeing you, however I would always recommend you see someone who is confident in carrying out cosmetic procedures and can show you examples of their work.

I hope you find this helpful and wish you all the best in getting your ‘perfect smile’. Regards, Dr Gambroudes.
