can teeth be whitened successfully after a root canal

Q. Is it possible to have teeth whitened successfully that have had a root canal? I have a front tooth and my left canine that have become discolored because of the root canals and it is really starting to inhibit my smiling. Thank you.

A. Hi,
it will definately improve with whitening and it depends on how discoloured it is now and when the root canal was done , in my experiance there always tends to be a slight difference and veneers may be needed but always try the whitening first

With tooth whitening will it work on a tooth that has had root canal treatment?

Yes but it might still be a bit greyer than the adjacent teeth so may need further treatment.
