Can IV sedation be used during tooth extractions?

Q.
Can you extract teeth whilst I am IV sedated. I have not been to the dentist for 30 years and hate my teeth and just want them out and replaced by false ones. Please help me. I had a terrible experience as a child and I now cannot even consider goimng to a surgery if it means poking around in my mouth and injections for extractions later on. My upper right wisdom tooth is hurting and 3 of my upper fromt teeth have bits missing from decay. All my teeth apart from my incisors have hurt me at some time in the past but this lastest ache is becoming intolerable

Hello, I’m sorry to hear about your situation. Iv sedation is a technique which allows treatment to be done while the patient is in a very relaxed state. We have treated many nervous and phobic patients using this technique, especially for extractions. I hope this helps and good luck with any future treatment.
