Can I have my crowns replaced and receive gum contouring in one sitting?

Q.
Hi Dr Patel, my two front teeth are crowned. The crowns are old now and on one of them the metal is showing on the gum line. I would like to have these replaced with all ceramic crowns. My gum line is not symmetrical above these two teeth and I think the eventual result would be better if the gum was contoured. My question is, can all this treatment be carried out at the same time or do you have to wait some time after gum contouring. I am not keen on the idea of waiting as I think the look would be unsightly and the way my teeth look now is already getting me down. Many thanks for your time.

Hi, thanks for your question. I would normally perform the gum surgery and place temporary crowns to allow the gums to mature ideally I would like to leave this for 4 months and then place the final crowns. This is the best way to do this it can be done in one go but I do not think this will achieve the best results.I hope this helps.
