Can a small gap between front and lateral tooth be filled?

Q.
Andrew, a hygenist has filed the enamel between my front and lateral tooth through vigarious scraping and so has created a small gap there when there wasn’t one. I know it is not there normally as I have a bonded retainer from orthodontic treatment and my teeth were perfect then. As this small gap is ruining my perfect smile, is there a way that this gap can be bonded with some filling material at all to replace the tooth enamel with the retainer there? The filed gap there now is below the retainer wire so can this be bypassed and bonded?
A.
Yes the gap could be filled with a bonded white filling, however it is unlikely that this has been caused by Hygiene treatment. It might be that the teeth are moving so ask your dentist to take a look soon.
