Are there any side-effects to using chrome cobalt?

Q. Hi, my wife has a upper plate made from Chrome Cobalt as we have been told which holds too front teeth. What I need to know is have you heard for any side efforts from using this material. Why I ask is that since it was fitted she has had mood swings Head and neck aches.,
A. If the Chrome Cobalt denture is in the way of the bite muscle tension can develop which may cause head and neck pains.  Another possible cause is the psychological effect of wearing a denture.  See your dentist to check for any physical problems with your denture.  Otherwise it may require time to get used to the denture.

My husband has an allegy to chrome. Could there be any chrome present in the metal wires which hook over his existing teeth to secure his dental bridge?

I’ve had a chrome upper denture since end of April and it seems to fit great, it is sooo much better than the plastic one and in the main I love wearing it. However, for the past 2 or 3 weeks I’ve started getting a bad taste in my mouth not sure if it would be described as metallic but it’s not nice and I’m getting a bit of sore/dry throat.. I clean them 2 a day using Steradent Active plus and I give them a rinse after eating. Since the bad taste started, I use the active plus once per day and the “Pro” once per day but still get the bad taste. I’m even putting my toothbrushes in the solution. I can make things better by using Corsodyll mouth wash but it is only temporary. Strangely, a couple of large Brandies seem to remove the bad taste 🙂 I also have some fillings, could these be causing some sort of chemical reaction? TIA
