Despite My Good Oral Health Regime, I Still Suffer From The Problem Of Bad Breath, Is There Anything I Can Do?

Thursday, January 23rd, 2014
Q.

Hi Andrew, I’ve been suffering with bad breath for a long time now and I see the dentist every 4 months. They are happy of my cleaning, and the dentist suggested to me to carry with this cleaning method. I brush twice a day and clean my tongue by using an inter-dental brush.  I gargle with mouthwash but I still have this bad breath problem. Even with my dentist scaling my teeth every 4 months time and when I do that I feel little better but it is no solution. Please help me to sort out this problem. Thank you. I look forward to your advice.

I Had A Root Canal Done 10 Weeks Ago And I’ve Had To Go Back So Many Times. I Don’t Know What To Do?

Wednesday, December 18th, 2013
Q.

I hope you can help me. I had root canal done on my front tooth 10 weeks ago now, I’ve been back so many times, the tooth has been filled so many times the bottom of my tooth is see through. The other day I was given a mouthwash by the filling and it is looking sore and 24 hours later I’m still in pain.  I have had three lots of antibiotics before they started filing the tooth and so much filing has been done that my mouth does not feel the same. The tooth hurts so much, I don’t know what to do any more, some times my ears hurt. When the root canal was having it proper filling put it, I was told I would not need to be numbed up as it was all dead, when something was put into the hole I nearly hit the roof, I never felt so much pain which lasted for a couple of minutes, Is this right what they are doing?

I Received Implants Last September And Still Can’t Brush My Teeth Properly, What Should I Do?

Wednesday, April 17th, 2013
Q.

I got dental implants surgery in late september .
I still have some original teeth and some temporary bridges and teeth but it still hurts to brush
,though I am brushing very softly and using corsodyl mouth wash and toothpaste quite a lot
I can see tartar around my implants what Can i do to get rid of tartar so implant does not fail? The tartar is building up more and more every day and it is really beginning to worry me! My breath is turning bad too, I keep receiving comments from family members. It has been months since my surgery, surely they should have healed up enough for me to brush my teeth properly by now? What would you recommend I should do? I can’t seem to remove the tartar no matter what I try and the implants cost me a fortune so I can’t have them fail on me! Please help, my dentist says to keep using the mouth wash but I don’t think it’s helping!

How long will it take for my gums to settle down following apicoectomy surgery?

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010
Q.

Dear Dr Kailesh
I have recently undergone an apiceptomy, however I am growing concerned because it has now been two weeks since the procedure and my gum where the apiceptomy was performed is very swollen and sore. Is this normal? if so how long is it before the swelling disappears.

Is it advisable to use hydrogen peroxide 3% mouthwash after brushing to remove stains?

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010
Q.

Hello

My teeth have become so yellow after using a mouthwash called ( Perio-Aid). i have used it for 2 months because my periodontist asked me to use it….. i stopped using it after 2 months when i saw some visible stains on my teeth but now with the passage of time all the teeth have become so yellow, i m very much worried now, i hardly smile because of this reason. i have heard about hydrogen peroxide 3% that it can make teeth look whiter. i just want to know, is it safe to use it as a mouthwash after brushing ????

Thank you.

Is there any way I can get cosmetic dentistry without paying a fortune for it?

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010
Q.
I’ve had problems with my teeth for as long as I can remember. But now things are getting worse. Despite regular brushing and using mouthwash my teeth are quite discoloured and now I’ve also noticed I have 3 loose teeth. I want to have more confidence when I smile but now I need implants as well. Unfortunately I’ve been made redundant and can’t afford to have the work done. Is there anyway I can get a brighter smile at least without paying fortunes for it?,

If my teeth continue to get loose is there anyway I can save them?

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010
Q.
I am currently under my hygienist whom i see every 3 months. But over the months i have noticed that my teeth are getting looser. I clean with the new corsadyl toothpaste, use mouth wash and the little christmas tree brushes to get in between the teeth. I suppose my question is: if my teeth continue to get loose is there anyway i can save them? or get them replaced?,

Why is veneer already stained only a week after getting it?

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010
Q.
I had a composite veneer on a front tooth a few weeks ago which has a slight small brown stain appearing on the bottom already. I have cut out tea, coffee and red wine but have used Corsodyl mouthwash for gum problems which I understand can stain the teeth. I use Sensodine toothpaste for my teeth but believe this is not suitable for my composite bonded tooth. Should I be using two different toothpastes?,
