Do I Really Need To Get A Bridge?

Q.
Hello there – I wonder if you can help. I am 50+ and have always retained 2 of my “baby” teeth (at the upper front) One of these recently broke (I have it reattached temporarily) and I would prefer an implant as opposed to a bridge. I have been advised that the gap will be too small to accommodate an implant…..I have been to a cosmetic dentist in Nottingham for a 2nd opinion and he also is of this opinion……Do I really need to resort to having a bridge? I’m not too ken to be perfectly honest. I would rather just have an implant but I thought I would ask you as well, hope to hear from you soon.  Many thanks – Kind regards.
A.
Hello there. Thank you very much for your question. This is an interesting one, if your first and second opinions are the same then it does seem that a bridge may be the way to go. Not for certain though. For example, if the gap is small then there is possibility of opening the gap initially by braces. Unfortunately it is impossible to say without examining the mouth.
