can lumineers be whitened

Q. I currently have lumineers and wish they were whiter. Can they be whitened with an over the counter whitener?

A. Lumineers are made of porcelain so like all dental materials can not be whitened by gels.  The colour of your teeth can only be improved by replacing them.  Only natural tooth can be whitened.

I was told that after having lumineers that I would be able to have teeth whitening if i wanted them to be a lighter colour. I was told I would need to use enlighten deep teeth whitening for Lumineers and regular zoom teeth whitening doesnt work on veneers or Lumineers

I’m not happy with my teeth and it’s been like this for a long time. My teeth are not straight, as for the colour, well put it this way, I don’t smokebut they look like I’ve been smoking for years. I don’t like taking picture because of the way they look. I need help, can you do something that I can afford.

Hello, I’m interested in getting a veneer for a a heavily discovered fronttooth with root canal (the root had to be filled after trauma). I understand that veneers cost 395 and tooth whitening 199, I’m also interested whether you will do internal bleaching to my tooth prior to the veneer and if that will be extra cost? regards

Hi I have really, really stained teeth after having antibiotics as a child, which is so bad that even teeth bleaching hasn’t helped. I am quite interested then in getting veneers, but am a bit confused between veneers and lumineers, are there any differences and which ones would you recommend for my condition? thanks

London Says :

Lunineers are nothing more than a brand name for veneers. It is a business marketing technique for a company who has the name lumineers. Seek a qualified cosmetic dentist. Look on the internet to determine this.

I’m currently at university and wondering about how much longer my veneers will last and how much the cost of replacing them would be. I’m happy to stay the same colour, size and shape. I’ve had 6 porcelain veneers since I was 11 and as such, am wary that they’re starting to get on a bit. I’ve got 6 porcelain veneers on front teeth on my upper jaw and the rest of my teeth and gums are in a good condition. how much would it cost for replacements and how much longer can I expect my veneers to last for?

Expect to pay from £500 each for veneers, but if they seem ok now they might still be ok for a few years more

They are very durable and will last as long as most other dental materials such as fillings or crowns. Typically they will last a long time when done properly
