Can I have a veneer put on my sharp canine tooth?

Q.

Hello Doctor

I have a sharp canine tooth which is not aesthetically pleasing and I wondered if it would be safe to have a porcelain veneer put on it?

Additionally, my two front teeth are longer than I’d like them to be and wondered if it was safe to have they filed down and I wondered how much that would cost on average and if it would cause any future problems?

Lastly, is teeth whitening safe?

thank you for your time

A.
Dear Enquirer,
Teeth whitening is extremely safe and has been used for several decades by dentists safely and effectively.
You need to be assessed for veneers but in theory you should be able to have a veneer on your canine tooth. You can havea minimal reduction on your two front teeth.
Costs for veneers vary from £500 to £1000 per veneer depending on the dentists expertise. You can read more about veneers on this site.
