As A 60 Year Old, Is Gum Recession Something I Must Live With?

Q.
Hi
I have had recently some gum problems
I am coming up to 60 years old next birthday and although i do not have any problems with my teeth i do have some gum shrinking at the bottom front part of my mouth,
is this a common problem or is there something i could have done as although it does not cause me any pain it is quite a uncomfortable feeling in my mouth?

I have had cleaning work done on my teeth but no gum work done as yet. I have read a little about gum recession and shrinking but obviously directly asking an expert like yourself would prove more beneficial.

Hi

I would be concerned if you are having gum recession and you do not want this to get worse. So it is important a diagnosis is carried out , to find out why this is occurring. When this has been concluded then an appropriate treatment can be proposed. Definitely go for a consultation to see what is going on.
