Free dental care event for New Jersey kids

Sample News Big

A free dental care day for kids has been scheduled for Monday 15th November.

The event will take place between 9 and 12 am and is open to kids aged between 2 and 5 years old from the North Essex area of New Jersey; children from Cedar Grove, Caldwell, Fairfield, Essex Fells, North Caldwell, Roseland, Glen Ridge, Montclair, Livingston, West Caldwell and Verona are invited to attend the free clinic.

Children will be able to benefit from treatments including dental examinations and screening and volunteers will also be on hand to educate children about oral health and oral hygiene; children will also receive a complete dental kit to help them look after their teeth and gums. There are around 50 appointment slots available.

The event is being held by the United Way of North Essex Family Success Center in association with the KinderSmile Foundation. The KinderSmile Foundation was established in 2007 to try and combat the increasingly common problems of tooth decay and gum disease amongst young children by providing dental care for children from low income families. A high proportion of children from poorer families suffer from oral health problems because their parents cannot afford dental treatment and there is a widespread lack of dentists who are willing to treat Medicaid patients.
