Free dental care day for kids

Sample News Big

More than 80 locations across New Jersey are going to be offering children free dental care on one day in 2010.

The Give Kids A Smile scheme, established by the New Jersey Dental Association (NJDA) in 2003, will be giving local children under the age of 12 greater access to dental care by treating them for free on Friday 5 February 2010.

The NJDA recently published figures suggesting that around one third of all American children are not covered by dental insurance and said that these kids were far more likely to experience tooth decay, infections and other oral illnesses.

Give Kids A Smile aims to improve the youngsters’ access to dentistry long-term as well as treating any issues on the day.

All children below the age of twelve are eligible for treatments but places are limited so parents are asked to book appointments.

A list of participating surgeries has been sent to all the public elementary schools and if you would like more information call 877-576-9278 or visit www.njda.org/gkas.
