Would you recommed one porcelain veneer to cover my discoloured front tooth?

Q.
Hi I am reasonably happy with my smile other than my front tooth which is a little darker in colour due to banging it when I was younger. I was looking at Lumineers but I understand you do not think the end result it very good. I was wondering therefore would it be possible to have one porceline veneer to the front or would it be best to have two front poreceline. Thank you.
A.
Hi

You could have either. The problem with doing only one, especially if it’s a very tooth, is that it is often extremely difficult to match it exactly to the natural tooth. This is why we often advise that both be done, so that they match exactly. The cost of doing a single one , because it is usually very difficult, is just as much as doing the two (but fees will vary amongst cosmetic dentists). Lumineers are ok for some limited cases but not very good for doing a single tooth or 2 teeth we want to match to natural teeth.
Best to talk to a Cosmetic dentist in person and discuss your needs in more detail
Hope that helps?
