Would veneers help my receding gums?

Q. Hello Dr Moore, My dentist and hygenist have both told me I have receeding gums, and I’ve noticed, particularly in the last year, how the gaps at the top of my upper teeth appear much darker as if I’ve got bits of food in them. Would veneers be suitable in my case, or would the fact that my gums are receeding mean that they wouldn’t look good for as long?,
A. You need to treat the underlying cause of the recession first as veneers could possibly cause then to shrink back more if not done 100%
