Would Invisalign work on front teeth that lean inwards where teeth either side stick out?

Q.
Hi Dr Hughes, my two front teeth lean inward and the teeth either side stick out. Sounds awful doesn’t it! Do you think that Invisalign could correct this? I had orthodontic work as a child but it didn’t work very well! I am 37.
With many thanks for your help.
Kind regards
A.
Hi Thanks for your question. It sounds like the type of tooth mal-alignment that Invisalign could very well help you with, but of course it would be wise to have a face to face examination with an expert in these types of braces to know for sure If you upload a photo here we may be able to give you a more accurate answer but an examination is crucial to really know what’s possible:

The first time I put a new set of aligners on, they do feel very tight. It takes a day or so for the soeenrss to go away. But the soeenrss is manageable with ibuprofen. They are tougher to get in and out the first day or two that I put a new set on, but after that it gets much easier. It is amazing the difference wearing Invisalign has made in just 3 months!

Hello, I would like my teeth to be straightened by February 2013 as after this I will be moving abroad. I would like to have Invisalign as I have looked at videos on YouTube and done a bit of research. I like the fact that they are removable and also that they are not obvious. My front two teeth buck slightly outwards. Do you think the express version of Invisalign would make my teeth move faster? Any help or advice would be gratefully received.Thank you.

Hi there! It depends on how much movement there is to be done. i would advise you to have an assessment by an experienced Invisalign provider, tell them your time schedule and start as soon as possible as it takes about 5 weeks from when you have your impressions taken to when you actually start treatment. Hope that helps

Hi what is your opinion of invisalign for teeth that don’t sit right? My jaws are liking going in two different directions, which makes it really hard to eat sometimes and my smile is just really wonky and stupid looking, which is why i never show my teeth when i smile. Do you think invisalign would work for me? thank you

Invisalign treatment could work for a case like yours. I would recommend booking a consultation with an Invisalign practitioner to have an assessment to see if this could be corrected with Invisalign.

Hi Michael, I’m already a patient of yours. I’m on my 9th of 10 retainers for my upper teeth. I put a new retainer in this morning and on one side it seems that the retainer is too long for the teeth. I’ve used the chewie to try and push the retainer up, but it doesn’t stay there. There is an approx 1mm gap from the bottom of the tooth to the retainer. Is this anything to worry about? Will it start to fit better after a few days?

If it does not get better after a couple of days then you should contact the practice and book an appointment for me to have a look at this for you.

Hi there. It says that each aligner should be worn for 2 weeks but can this be cut to 1 week if the teeth have moved sufficiently? Many thanks

Evelyn Says :

No. You must wear each set of aligners for 2 weeks as recommended.

I have a very large gap in between my two front teeth because my tooth right along the side of my left front tooth didn’t completely grow in. My question is would it be possible for me to have my four front teeth removed and replaced with implants to correct my smile? I have been living with these embarrassing teeth all my life and it is my dream to have them fixed for the most reasonable price. Please let me know if this would be a possible solution to my problem. Thank You,
