Will implants restore my facial structure?
Q.
Hello!
Three of my wisdom teeth and 2 molars (1st and second) were pulled this year in February. The appearance of my face has changed drastically. I am ready to get two new implants for the molars. Will the appearance of my face go back to the way it was, in some way? Also, is there a certain amount of time I should wait to get them replaced? What’s the longest amount of time I can wait before my teeth start shifting so much that I can’t get implants? Thank you!

Hi
Hi
It’s unlikely you’ll regain any loss of facial support by having the implant treatment but best to ask your surgeon.
The ideal time to place implants following extractions is either immediately , as long as there’s no infection present in the extraction sites, or within 6-12 weeks following the removal of the teeth if infection was present. This time may also vary and increase if any grafting was done at the time of the extractions – again it’s best to ask your implant surgeon all these questions
Hope that helps you
All the best
