Will ClearPath aligners reduce my overbite?

Q.
Dear Doctor,
Need some advice on ClearPath aligners.
I have an 8mm overjet and the upper front teeths and slightly angled out and gaps between upper four front teeths. If the teeths are pulled back to close the gaps, I think the overjet can be reduced to 5-4mm and and this can close the gaps.Do you think ClearPath aligners can be useful for me.? Do clearpath aligners are used for this kind of malocclusions…? I am 27 years old now.
A.
Hi and thanks for the questions

For reduction of your overjet by this amount the removable aligners may not be the most ideal solution, especially if extraction of any teeth is required. If the overjet is due mainly to forward splaying of the teeth and not a jaw size discrepancy then it could be possible with clear aligners. It would be important to check that you do not have any gum disease before starting any orthodontic treatment.

Without examining you it’s impossible to be accurate with my answers so the best thing to do is to speak to an orthodontist as soon as you can for advice

Regards

Mark
