Why is there pain in teeth and gums?

Q. I woke up this morning with a constant throbbing sensation in my front tooth. This tooth 20 years ago I had a root canal performed on it. I had no pain in this tooth prior to when I woke up. It is CONSTANT it feels like pressure on my gums? The surrounding gum of my front tooth does not look infected nor do any of my surrounding teeth in pain. Very Strange! please provide guidance thanks!

A. It sounds like an absces go to your dentsit and ask him/her to x-ray it for a proper diagnosis
