Why is root canal so expensive? Is the treatment not available on NHS?
Q. Hi Dr Moore, I recently had four front caps fall out. I went to theNHS dentist and he said I would either need a denture or root canal treatment the latter costing up to 13 hundred pounds. Is this treatment not availableon the NHS? He fixed the four teeth back in but as one of the posts was broken he said it would only last a short time. Thank you.
A. Hello, I’m not sure why the root canal is so expensive as this is usually available to NHS patients. Go back and ask for a more detailed breakdown of the costs. it could be that the teeth need to come out and a bridge made instead of the root canals so it would be worth clarifying the situation
