Why Can’t I Get A Bridge Through The NHS, And How Much Would I Expect To Pay?

Q.
Hello Dr Moore, I have something I’d like to ask. I had four veneers fitted on my four upper front teeth 21 years ago, one has broken and my teeth have gone completely rotten behind them. I saw an NHS dentist this morning who says the four teeth need removing and she advises that I see a private dentist for a bridge. How much should I expect to pay and why can’t I have this done on the NHS? She said she can only offer me dentures and she does not think this is the correct treatment? I’d like to hear any advice from this on this.

Hello and thank you for your enquiry. Often bridges aren’t possible on the NHS as many types of treatments are considered cosmetic, you’ll need a quote for a bridge and possibly implants as this would work better. Try to search for the best deal through the various quality clinics, who can possibly offer financial plans and options. I hope this helps you with your enquiry. Best of luck, Dr Andrew Moore.
