What other options than braces does my 14 year old daughter have?

Q.
my 14 yr old daughter has seen an orthodentist who has said she needs 4 extractions and then a brace. she has only minor crowding on the bottom front teeth at one side and doesn’t like her pointy canines at the top which are noticible when she smiles.the dentist said she needed the extractions to be able to line up her bite correctly. on looking at her the teeth are only a couple of mm off and not really noticible. given that her issues seem quite minor would she be able to correct the canines with veneers to achieve as nicer look without all the extractions and braces.
A.
Hi and thanks fort the questions

At her age I would very vry rarely recommend veneers, unless the procedures could be done with minimal damage or alteration to her teeth. Very often these days orthodontics can be done without extractions so maybe a second opinion on that front would be a good idea? There are ‘bonding’ techniques that might suffice rather than placing veneers but you’d need to come and see myself or another expert cosmetic sdentists and orthodontist near you for the best advice

All the best

I am interested in getting braces (preferably Invisible braces). I was wondering how much this would cost privately and if you would have to pay for an initial consultation? I had braces for a few months when I was younger however, one of the pieces of metal that was put behind my teeth after treatment broke off and I now have one squint tooth at the front. Would this be possible to fix with Invisalign? I am a young professional and do a lot of public speaking therefore, dont want to have visible braces. My wedding is in 2011 therefore, I was hoping to have my teeth fixed before then. advice?

I have braces from a different clinic abroad. They are the white clear braces. A brace had broken off a few days ago and I need a new one. It is the brace which is on a tooth with a gap next to it so it is quite urgent. May you please provide an estimate and if this could be done today. Many thanks

Hello. I am 18 years old and I need a second opinion on my treatment plan that I have received from another ortho. The dentist would like to extract two of my upper 5s, 2nd bicuspids on each side and apply braces to fix my overbite and provide an attractive smile. This is also because my lower jaw is smaller than my upper and I did not want to surgecally correct the problem. I am very afraid this method of extracting teeth may cause my facial profile to “collapse” or “thin out/sink in” and I am wondering if a widersmile would be a better option for me. Regards,

Hi there, I am enquiring about the prices for treatment in your practice relating to my teeth. I wore a brace for years asa child and lately i have noticed my teeth have moved. Quite noticeably infact. I had my brace removed nearly 13 years ago. I would like to know what treatments you offer if possible and the prices charged including paymentplans if any for all of these. I look forward to hearing from you.

My daughter, aged 16,had her braces removed a while ago. Unfortunately shelost her retainer for the bottom teeth and, having been to the dental hospital, her teeth have moved and the retainer that they will now provide willkeep the teeth in place where they have moved to. The waiting list is 2 to3 years to get another brace fitted to straighten them and I wondered, given what she has gone through, whether to get them straight would be a particularly big job as the ground work has been done. Thanks.

Hi, i am just wondering how much ceramic braces cost as i am only 15 and my ortodontic said that i only need 2 teeth out. she said it could take up to 12-18 months for my teeth to straighten but it is my prom next year.i read somewhere that ceramic braces only cost £200-£300 for people under 18 with the NHS, is this true. could you give me some other options of braces that i can have, that are not as noticeable and would take the same amount of time as fixed braces to work and also the prices of them. thanks

Was wondering on a price for My wife to have her two front teeth straightened. The are both slightly pushed back due to an accident as a child. The teeth either side of the two front one seem that they would also need moving slightly to allow room for the front upper two teeth to fit back in they’re normal place. Could this procedure be done in one sitting or would it be a number of appointments?

It sounds like she might need some sort of brace treatment. As a guide costs start from £1700 but will vary according to the complexity of treatment and type of brace required.
