WHAT IS THE PRICE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LUMINEERS AND VENEERS

Q. Can you tell me the price difference between lumineers vs veneers?

A. Lumineers are a type of veneer that are marketed to the public. They do claim to be able to fix all kind of problems but this is not the case. Lumineers and normal veneers are all made in the same way.
Lumineers claim that teeth do not have to be shaved down but this is also the case with normal veneers.
Normal veneers when done well look much more natural and dentists that place normal veneers normally have the correct training. Normal veneers take into account the bite, any crowding or spacing that may be present. Old fillings are normall removed with normal veneers, where as lumineers are probably placed over the top of old fillings.
Lumineers can only correct extremely minor crowding or discolouration. They cannot correct wear problems suitably. Failure rates of Lumineers are not known.
My advice would be to stay away from from them. If you go to a dentist that knows how to place normal veneers you will have all the treatment options available to you. You shouldn’t go to a general practitioner for cosmetic work as thy may not have the correct training. The dentist should have training in bite problems, they should have takena hands on aesthetic dentistry programme and they should have a good extensive portfolio.
Be very selective if you are considering having the treatment carried out.
Kind regards

I have been told that if I had Lumineers installed that I would need about 9 teeth done. What would be a normal price for this? My dentist said about $8100.00. Is this the going rate?
