What is the difference between different crowns?
Q.
What is the difference between
What is the difference between
All Ceramic Crown, Zirconium Crown,
Metal Porcelain?????? which is the
best???
Thank.
A.
The first two are actually both ‘all ceramic’. Zirconia is a material used to strengthen porcelain so it’s musch stronger than normal dental porcelain, but in essence it’s an ‘all ceramic’ crown too. Metal procelain refers to a crown that uses a metal underneath the crown, normally a precious metal, to help strengthen the porcelain above it.

The answer to which is best will depend on what strength you’d need and what kind of aesthetic result your trying to achieve. In general, an all ceramic crown will look more realistic than one with metal underneath it, but this is not always the case.
I’d go for an examination and consultation with a cosmetic dentist to get the best advice for your particular situation
hope that helps
