What is the best option to straighten my teeth? Would you advise I go with braces or veneers?

Q. Hi Dr, i just wanted to know what is the best option to have my teeth straightened as i am 36 years old and have landed a job as an events organiser. My main concern is if i have veneers fitted over my old teeth , will they be painful as time goes on? I would like my teeth straightened in a quick way and not something thats time consuming.
